Visitors to Grays beach now have access to free WiFi services throughout the park area.

Vocaltel, Thurrocks local VoIP communications provider in partnership with the Ightship community project have recently installed high speed long range WiFi access at Grays beach park and Café. Visitors to the park can now, for the first time, access high speed, secure internet services both in the café and throughout the park area. The guest WiFi service is free of charge and operates during all park opening hours.

Using state of the art internal WiFi access points and purpose designed long range external access points the new installation provides a meshed, cloud managed network that supports WiFi roaming and secure time-based guest network access.

Vocaltels marketing director Peter Josling explains that although the Lightship Café has been a Vocaltel customer since its’ re-launch it had outgrown its original communications requirements due to the addition of services such as online payment systems, CCTV and the need for outdoor telephone coverage. Peter goes on to explain that as part of Vocaltels local focus the company discussed future requirements with the Lightship cafes’ Geoff Stringfellow and committed to completely upgrade the site free of charge with the installation of new internal and external WiFi access points, a WiFi VoIP telephone system and additional WiFi featurephones.
