The final switch off will be in 2025 which may seem a long way off but given that well over 15 million lines will need to be moved to a replacement service by this time it really isn’t meaning that preparations to secure your telecoms services need to be made as far in advance as possible.

From 2022 BT Openreach will no longer accept orders for new copper lines and in 2025 all traditional telephony services will be finally switched off. As part of the switch off process customers will be need to move their existing telephony services away from traditional copper lines and onto an Internet based telephony service before the switch off date.

Inbound callers can be asked to consent to call recording or to decline call recording before the call is answered, if the caller gives consent the call is recorded and stored in compliance with GDPR requirements; if recording consent is witheld all recording functionality ( including one touch recording ) is disabled for the duration of the call and no recording can take place. Hard coded information showing the customers action in giving or withholding consent can be provided via the Centrex5 API function if required.

Although not required under GDPR Centrex5 also now generates highly secure digitally signed call recordings as standard thereby enabling the integrity of recordings to be established and removing any concerns surrounding the validity of individual recordings.

This pop-up feature can be extremely useful when taking incoming customer service calls where the notes field can be used to track customer interactions.

Whilst this new functionality does not Replace the current high end CRM systems that Centrex5 supports such as Salesforce and Microsoft Dynamics 365 it does provide a very useful free tool for dealing with incoming telephone enquiries.

Visitors to the park can now, for the first time, access high speed, secure internet services both in the café and throughout the park area. The guest WiFi service is free of charge and operates during all park opening hours.

Using state of the art internal WiFi access points and purpose designed long range external access points the new installation provides a meshed, cloud managed network that supports WiFi roaming and secure time-based guest network access.

Vocaltels marketing director Peter Josling explains that although the Lightship Café has been a Vocaltel customer since its’ re-launch it had outgrown its original communications requirements due to the addition of services such as online payment systems, CCTV and the need for outdoor telephone coverage.
